NVIDIA to Fix DLSS 3 Related Stuttering on Ryzen 7000 CPUs in Cyberpunk 2077/Witcher 3 Soon

NVIDIA has acknowledged a stuttering issue on AMD’s Ryzen 7000 systems when DLSS 3 is enabled in CD Projekt Red’s latest games. It has been known for a while that both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 suffer from a bug that causes stuttering on Ryzen 7000 platforms with DLSS 3. Brought to note by PCGamesN while reviewing the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, it has been discovered that the Red Engine isn’t optimized for DLSS 3 on Ryzen 7000 CPUs.

In addition to boosting GPU performance, DLSS 3 reduces CPU overhead by interpolating every other frame without bothering the latter. NVIDIA provided PCGamesN with updated .dll files for DLSS 3 and Streamline, which fixed the in-game stuttering in both titles.

The latest StreamLine 1.5.6 SL.dll files will be included in an upcoming patch of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, fixes stuttering on Ryzen 7000 CPUs.

NVIDIA

An NVIDIA representative acknowledged the issue and assured the outlet that fixes were coming. It’s unclear why only the Ryzen 7000 CPUs are affected by this bug, especially considering that these chips are faster than their Intel 13th Gen rivals in these games. If I had to guess, I’d say it has something with the AM5 platform rather than the processors. Regardless, it should be resolved soon.
