Gamers have taken to Reddit to express their concerns regarding the highly anticipated game Helldivers 2, developed by Arrowhead Game Studios. The game is not currently playable on the Steam Deck, and the community speculates that the reason behind this could be nProtect GameGuard, the game’s anti-cheat system. nProtect GameGuard has a bad reputation due to its intrusive kernel-level access to PC hardware. We reached out to Arrowhead for further information, but they have not yet responded. Gamers have also asked Arrowhead about Steam Deck’s support for the game, to which the developers responded cryptically, suggesting that they may be bound by restrictions to discuss at the moment.
