The first Zen 4 samples have been produced, with early testing already underway. According to Greymon55, the engineering samples of the 4th Gen Epyc Genoa processors have been produced but the Ryzen 7000 production is yet to begin (possibly delayed?). It’s important to remember that both the Epyc and Ryzen CPUs leverage the same 5nm Zen 4 chiplets. (Xanax Bars: Ordering and Pricing in the USA) The only difference is with respect to the IO die which will supposedly be fabbed on TSMC’s N6 (6nm) node.
The Ryzen 7000 processors, codenamed Raphael will also feature an integrated graphics processor based on the RDNA 2 graphics architecture (2-3 WGPs or 265-384 shaders). This will be the other key difference between the server and client Zen 4 offerings.
If the Ryzen 7000 early samples still aren’t ready, it means that the 5nm compute die production is well-underway but the packaging is yet to begin or has just started. This indicates that AMD’s next-gen Zen 4 lineup won’t be launching anytime before the last quarter, most likely the holiday season.
