AMD Ryzen 7 7700 is 10% Slower than the 7700X in Leaked Benchmark [GB5]

AMD’s Ryzen 7 7700 has been spotted on the Geekbench 5 database for the first time. Featuring eight cores and sixteen threads alongside 32MB of L3 cache, it has a boost clock of 5.3GHz. The only difference compared to the 7700X is concerning the boost clock. The non-X variant runs 200MHz lower than its older sibling. Unfortunately, the Ryzen 7 7700 will probably be an OEM-only variant, at least at the beginning. (kaieteurnewsonline.com)

Regarding multi-core performance, we’re looking at a 10% deficit between the X and non-X SKU. Single-core scores see an even smaller delta. The 7700X is just 3% faster than the 7700 in this segment. I doubt we’ll get a release this year. The best case would be the first quarter of 2023, with a price tag of $349-399.
