Windows 11 Will Likely be a Free Upgrade to Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 Owners

Windows 11 is likely going to be a free upgrade for Windows 10, 8.1, and even 7 owners. This was revealed via the leaked build of the upcoming operating system. You can see in the below screenshots that Windows 11 has product configuration keys for Windows 7 and 8.1 in addition to Windows 10. There are entries for Windows 8 as well, but that version isn’t supported. As such, Windows 8 users will need to upgrade to 8.1 to get the new OS:

Similarly, the upgrade to Windows 7/8.1 to 10 is still free and has been ever since the latter was launched. This is despite MS initially stating that the free upgrade path would last only for a year. You just need to use the Media Creation Tool available on Microsoft’s website rather than using Windows Update.
