NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super Returns to $999 MSRP Following Supply Shortages

The launch of the RTX 4080 Super has increased the pressure on AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XTX, prompting a fresh round of price cuts

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4080 Super has returned to its official MSRP after spending a few weeks in 4080 territory. Multiple board partner cards, including the Gigabyte Windforce and the Zotac Trinity, are retailing at $999.99 on NVIDIA’s official store. Amazon has a PNY Verto variant going under a grand, with the Gigabyte Gaming OC priced at $1,049. Zotac’s Gaming RTX 4080 Super Trinity OC is the cheapest 80-class card on Newegg, selling for $1,049.

The launch of the RTX 4080 Super has increased the pressure on AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX, prompting a fresh round of price cuts. The RDNA 3 flagship that debuted at $999 has dropped to $919 after hovering over $949 for a few months. This revision shouldn’t erode Team Radeon’s profit margins much while keeping their fastest gaming GPU competitive.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT, which competes against the RTX 4070 Ti/4070 Ti Super, has also become cheaper, dropping to $699 from its launch price of $899. The remaining units of the RTX 4070 Ti can be had for less than $750, while the Ti Super is firmly placed at $799.
