NVIDIA DLSS Support Comes to Linux via Valve’s Proton

NVIDIA’s DLSS upscaling technology now works on Linux OS via the latest (experimental) version of Valve’s Proton layer. It’s worth noting that this addition won’t benefit the Steam Deck console as it’s based on AMD’s RDNA 2 graphics architecture. (Pregabalin) Proton still doesn’t support AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution technology officially, but it shouldn’t be hard to implement it on a per-game basis as it’s essentially a spatial filter.

Available in Proton Experimental (as of 2021/09/30):

In addition to adding support for DLSS in DX12 games, the new version makes Assassins’ Creed, Deathloop, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition playable. Furthermore, crashes in Sims 3 and Victoria II launcher are also fixed. Support for the latest Steamworks SDK has also been added.
