Intel Planning to Cut 12th Gen Core CPU Prices by up to 20% Soon [DT]

According to a report from DigitTimes, Intel plans to cut the prices of its 12th Gen Alder Lake processors by as much as 20%. This is hardly unexpected news. Earlier this year, the chipmaker hiked CPU pricing across the board, something that didn’t quite work out with the falling demand in the PC market. With Raptor Lake out and about, Team Blue has decided to cut the prices of the preceding Alder Lake offerings by up to 20%:

The Core i9-12900 series SKUs are now priced between $400 and $500, roughly on par with the Ryzen 9 7900X. The i7-12700 lineup can now be had for just $276 for the F variants and ~$350 for the K series models. In comparison, the Ryzen 7 7700X is going for $348. Moving down the stack to the Core i5 family, we have the 12400F going for $147 and the 12600K for $254. The competing Ryzen 5 7600X has been discounted to $248 across prominent retailers.
