Atomic Heart Requires an NVIDIA RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6800 XT for 4K Ray Tracing Ultra on PC

The system requirements for the hotly anticipated title Atomic Heart have been released in detail. Featuring ray-traced lighting on PC, it is marketed as the spiritual successor to BioShock Infinite with a versatile mix-and-match combat system. The developers shared the detailed specifications in an interview with WCCFTech. These include the configurations for attaining a minimum of 30 and 60 FPS on the slowest of systems:

To get a minimum of 30 FPS at 1080p (low-quality settings), you need a GeForce GTX 960 or the Radeon R9 380 alongside a Core i5-12-2500 or the Ryzen 3 1200. Raising the FPS bar to 60 FPS pulls the GPU requirement up to a GTX 1060 or the RX 580 paired with 8-12GB of DDR4 memory. Additionally, a whopping 90GB of SSD storage is recommended.

For medium and high settings at 1080p, you’ll need a GeForce GTX 1070/RX 5600 XT and 1080/5700 XT, respectively. For 1080p ultra, you need a Core i7-7700K, a Ryzen 5 2600K paired with a GeForce RTX 2070 Super, or a Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Considering the inclusion of ray-tracing, the system requirements for 4K ultra are rather tame. You’ll require a GeForce RTX 3080, a Radeon RX 6800 XT, a Core i7-8700K, or the Ryzen 5 3600X.

It’s also important to note that specified everywhere in the table FPS is the minimum one that the players will get during fierce battles in the most crowded locations. In fact, in most locations and game situations, the FPS will be much higher. For example, with the GeForce GTX 1650 graphical card, the players will get a minimum of 60FPS, while a maximum indicator in most locations will be 100FPS.

To clarify, does Atomic Heart support shader compilation before entering the game?

It starts before the game and you can see the progress, but it’s up to you to skip this process and go straight to the game and finish the shader compilation later.

You can get away with just 8GB of memory by disabling the shader optimization process in the settings. However, this may lead to stuttering when entering a new map. The developers require at least 12GB of memory to allow pre-caching for faster runtime shader compilation.
