The Ryzen 7 7700X is an octa-core CPU featuring a peak single-core boost of 4.5GHz and a TDP of 105W. It packs 32MB of L3 cache and can be overclocked using the core multiplier or the BLCK. It is best paired with a B650 or B650E motherboard and 16GB x2 of DDR5-6000 memory, and an upper midrange to high-end Radeon or GeForce graphics card.

Regarding gaming performance, the Ryzen 7 7700X sits below the Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake-S processors. It’s slightly faster than the 12th Gen Alder Lake offerings and quite a bit behind the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Builders looking for a purely gaming-centric CPU may want to consider the latter.
