AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 XT is one of the best value-for-money graphics cards on the market. With a price tag of less than $300, it is a solid option for gamers running 1080p systems. We benchmarked the GPU at FHD across six popular titles to see how it holds up against the competition. The results are quite encouraging, considering the price prospect and power consumption.

Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming Benchmarks

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is a direct competitor to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. In some titles, it trades blows with the RTX 3070, but in ray-traced games, it drops to RTX 3060 levels. We’ll focus on rasterized workloads in this review. Death Stranding sees the RTX 3060 Ti and RX 6600 XT yield roughly the same frame rates but is notably slower in Cyberpunk 2077.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla favors AMD hardware heavily, and it shows. The Radeon RX 6600 XT is appreciably faster than the RTX 3060 Ti and 3070 in this case. Borderland 3 nets similar figures, except the RTX 3070 still comes out on top.

Metro Exodus and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are the final test application in this review. Metro Exodus is the exact opposite of Valhalla. The RTX 3070 is 35% faster than the RX 6600 XT, while the 3060 Ti leads by 20%.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a more well-rounded test. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and RX 6600 XT perform the same as the RTX 3070 is 20% faster than both.

As you can see, the Radeon RX 6600 XT is an excellent 1080p graphics card, an ideal partner for the Ryzen 5 5600. You can build a very capable gaming rig for $350 plus a motherboard and memory kit. The only drawback is that you won’t be able to upgrade and will need a full-fledged investment when you decide to go next-gen.
