NVIDIA RTX 4080 Gets 22% Discount; AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is 26% Cheaper in China

NVIDIA and AMD’s graphics cards have been discounted by as much as 47% in China. This includes the newly launched GeForce RTX 40 and Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs as well. As per the data compiled by Fast Technology, the GeForce RTX 4080 is 22.1% cheaper, dropping from 9,499 to 7,399 Yuan in the Asian market. On the Red side, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has been discounted by 25%, from 7,399 to just 5,499 Yuan.

The GeForce RTX 4090 debuted at 12,999 but can now be had for 11,509 Yuan, a price cut of 13%. Similarly, the RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti have also been reduced to 4,199 and 5,749 Yuan from 4,799 and 6,799 Yuan, respectively. We’re looking at double-digit drops across even the latest SKUs.

The last-gen GeForce and Radeon parts have gotten substantially larger cuts on AMD’s end. The Radeon RX 6950 XT and 6900 XT have been discounted by nearly 50%, while the budget RX 6000 GPUs are down by 40% to 47%. The RX 6700 XT, 6750 XT, and 6800 XT are also down by over 30%. In contrast, the GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs are only 20% to 26% cheaper despite being pricier to begin with.

There’s no guarantee that the same price cuts will come to the Western markets, but it’s certainly a good sign. The GeForce RTX 4090 and 4070 Ti have been selling well, while the RTX 4070 and 4080 have been going through a rough patch. We expect the RTX 4060 Ti to cost the same as its predecessor to keep sales on track.
