AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards are (mostly) back to their MSRPs across the US market while rival GeForce RTX 30 GPUs continue to sell $100-200 over their sticker prices. Let’s have a look at the prices of both lineups over at Newegg to get a clearer picture. Starting at the midrange, we have the RX 6600 XT going for a bit over $400. This puts it just $40 over its launch price of $379.
Its nearest NVIDIA rival, the RTX 3060 Ti is going for roughly $579, $179 over its MSRP of $399. It’s worth noting that the Ti is a step up from the 6600 XT, especially in ray-traced games. You can read more about that in our review.
Then we have the Radeon RX 6700 XT going for $514.99 ($529 + $15 rebate), once again approximately $30-40 over its sticker price of $479.
NVIDIA has a bit of a pricing problem here. The cheapest RTX 3070 Tis are actually cheaper than the lowest-priced 3070s. ASUS and Gigabyte both have an SKU priced at $699, $100 over the official price of $599. Once again, it’s important to note that although the 3070 Ti is priced $185 higher than the 6700 XT, it’s also substantially faster at higher resolutions.
Approaching the high-end, we have the Radeon RX 6800 XT and the GeForce RTX 3080. The Sapphire RX 6800 XT Pulse is now priced at $859 while the MSI RTX 3080 Gaming is going for $969, both considerably over their six hundred something dollar MSRPs.
Finally, we have the Ampere and RDNA 2 flagships. The Radeon RX 6900 XT is now back to its launch price of $999 across most retailers while the RTX 3090 is still selling a fair bit over its already inflated MSRP of $1,499.
