The chip shortages of 2019-21 were one of the defining characteristics of this generation. Tongfu Microelectronics, a chip packaging company from China and one of AMD’s top partners has confirmed that its manufacturing capacity is set to increase in the coming months. In 2021, Tongfu Microelectronics reported an operating income of 15.812 billion yuan, a yearly increase of 46.84%. The general manager of the firm stated that TSMC’s efforts to increase its advanced process node production are proceeding well.
AMD, the Taiwanese foundry’s second-largest client accounted for 4.93% its revenue in 2021. The production of next-gen Ryzen/Radeon processors is expected to reach new heights, bolstering the revenue of its packaging partners. Mass production of the upcoming Epyc Genoa CPUs is already underway, while the Ryzen 7000 parts are about the get the same treatment later this month.
