Zotac to Launch 8 RTX 3080/3090 Graphics Cards w/ Revamped Heatsink Design

ZOTAC accidentally leaked pictures of its upcoming NVIDIA Ampere lineup, including GeForce RTX 3090 models, GeForce RTX 3080, and GeForce RTX 3070 variants. These custom parts feature triple fan designs except for the Twin Edge, which is limited to the GeForce RTX 3070. This means that both Trinity and Extreme class ZOTAC RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 boards will feature a triple fan design. There are a total of eight expected cards in the top-end space:

  • GeForce RTX 3090 AMP Extreme
  • GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity HoLo
  • GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity
  • GeForce RTX 3080 AMP Extreme
  • GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity HoLo
  • GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity
  • GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge HoLo
  • GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge

The over-engineered cooling solutions remind us once again of the tremendous levels of power consumption we expect to see with Ampere. Interestingly, the leak also gives us some additional insights into the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090. For starters, one of the promotional pictures breaks down the PCB design, showing what looks to be a 20 phase power delivery design.

It’ll come as a relief to prospective buyers that the curious 12-pin power input configuration is limited to NVIDIA’s own Founder’s Edition parts. It remains to be seen what difference the power delivery capabilities have on Ampere card performance, but we should know soon enough.

In terms of I/O capabilities, the leaked slides tell us what we expected: we see one HDMI 2.1 port along with 3 DP 1.4 inputs, giving you plenty of flexibility.
