According to the source who leaked the news about GTA V being Epic Game Store’s free title this week, Tim Sweeney might have another big surprise for us. CD Projekt Red’s Witcher 3 might be the next free game the store will offer.
If this turns out to be true, then Epic will become the first Game Store to give away free copies of the two best games of the decade. Looking at the trends, it’s certainly possible. EGS has already given away Just Cause 4 and a bunch of other AAA titles.
Many gamers, especially Redditors avoid the new platform due to exclusivity deals. Till now, Epic has secured timed exclusivity for major games like Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, Control, Heavy Rain, Outer Worlds, Beyond Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human and a ton of other big titles.
It’ll be interesting to see if these latest giveaways change PC gamers’ attitude towards Sweeney’s latest project.
