The Lord of the Rings: Gollum on PC: NVIDIA RTX 3080 for 1440p with Ray Tracing (DLSS)

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is set to release across PC and consoles on the 25th of May. Daedalic Entertainment has unveiled the game’s system requirements, including ray tracing and the target resolution. For the bare minimum (1080p at Medium), you’ll need a GeForce GTX 1080 or an RTX 2060 alongside 16GB of memory. The CPU requirements are modest, listing the Core i7-4770 (quad-core) or AMD’s Ryzen 5 1600 (hex-core).

Minimum System Requirements (1080p Medium)

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 AMD Ryzen 5 1600.
  • Memory: 16 GB DDR4.
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or GeForce RTX 2060.
  • Storage: 45 GB

Scaling the resolution a notch and enabling ray tracing drastically increases GPU requirements. At 1440p with the high-quality preset and ray tracing, you’ll need an RTX 3080 (with DLSS enabled) to get reasonable performance. A Core i3-6100 or a Ryzen 5 2600 is recommended on the CPU side. In stark contrast to the GPUs, these are low-end CPUs from several generations back. The memory requirements are also quite high, demanding 32GB of memory.

  • Processor: Intel i3-6100 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600.
  • Memory: 32 GB DDR4.
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (with DLSS in Quality).
