The launch price of Sony’s next-gen PlayStation 5 console has been reportedly leaked by an Asian retailer (now removed), and it doesn’t look pretty. If this listing is anything to go by, the disk version of the PS5 will cost US$700, with the Digital version likely costing $100 less.

The fact that you can build a roughly equivalent gaming PC even before the consoles have hit retail is a bit unsettling. I’m talking about a Ryzen 3 3300X, Radeon RX 5700 build which will more or less perform on the same level. In six months or so as the Zen 3 based processors and the Navi 2x/ Ampere GPUs lands, you’ll essentially be able to build considerably faster PC for nearly the price or 0 more. (Xanax)
Hopefully, the Digital Version will still cost around $500, otherwise it pretty much makes the point of consoles redundant: affordability.
