Sea of Thieves Tops Steam Bestseller Chart for June: Dragon Age Inquisition and Crysis 3 at #3 and #2

While Epic Games is trying its best to steer game developers away from Steam with better profit margins and exclusivity, Steam is showing no signs of slowing down. Recently Microsoft and EA announced the launch of their titles on the platform including Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves and hits like Battlefield V and Crysis 3. Fast forward to the present day and you’ll see that these titles are selling like crazy on Steam. In fact, 6 out of the top 10 bestsellers on Steam for the month of June were EA published games.

MS’s Sea of Thieves led the pack at #1 while Crysis 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition were ranked #2 and #3, respectively. This is despite the fact that both these games launched several years ago. The latter in 2014 and the former in 2013.

Despite that it seems like gamers are flocking towards these EA titles now that they are out on Steam. To be fair, Origin isn’t a bad client by any means but it doesn’t come close to Steam in terms of features and accessibility. The Microsoft Game Store, on the other hand, has come a long way but still pales in comparison to Gabe’s platform. The Halo Infinite has already been listed on Steam despite the fact that it’ll be an Xbox first party title. This just goes on to show that publishers have started taking PC gamers more seriously and are willing to bend the rules for positive PR and of course, sales.
