Returnal Requires an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti or Radeon RX 6950 XT for 4K Ray Tracing on PC

Returnal is the next PlayStation exclusive headed to PC. The platformer will be playable on the 15th of February with a slew of exclusive features, including ray-traced shadows and reflection. NVIDIA’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR upscaling technologies will also be included to ensure optimal gameplay. In addition, NIS (NVIDIA Image Sharpening) will also be integrated for improved texture sharpness in case you’re playing at native or a reduced resolution.

Support for ultrawide displays, including 21:9 and Super Ultrawide 32:9, has also been confirmed. The full PC requirements for Returnal on PC are as follows:

Minimum (720p 60 FPS, Low Quality)

Medium (1080p 60 FPS, Medium Quality)

Recommended (1080p 60 FPS, High Quality)

Epic (4K 60 FPS, Epic Quality)

Ray tracing (4K 60 FPS, Ray-Tracing Epic)

If you don’t mind switching ray-tracing off, you should be good to go. A GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will be sufficient for 1440p Epic, while an RTX 3080 will do the job at 4K. With ray-tracing enabled, however, it’s a completely different story. You’d want an RTX 3080 Ti or, better yet, an RTX 4070 Ti or a 4090 for optimal performance. The game also demands 32GB of memory and 60GB of SSD storage.
