Overclocked Radeon RX 6800 XT @ 2.55GHz Reportedly Locks Horns with the RTX 3090

AMD’s Radeon RTX 6800 XT apparently manages to reach boost clocks of 2.55GHz on board partner models when overclocked. That is 300MHz higher than the stock boost clock of 2.25GHz. Before we continue, please take this report with a grain of salt as GPU-Z doesn’t take into account whether the overclock is stable.

Regardless, this is an impressive achievement as AMD has already promised rather lofty overclocking capabilities from its Big Navi graphics cards due to the use of the Infinity Cache which significantly cuts down latency.

As far as the performance implications of this OC are concerned, we can expect performance very close or even on par with the $1,500 RTX 3090 in some cases. Again, please take this rumor with a grain of salt as there isn’t much info available as of now.
