An overclocked Ryzen 9 5950X has surfaced on Geekbench 5, breaking all records and beating its predecessor by around 2x in terms of single-threaded performance. Keep in mind that this is an engineering sample running @ 6GHz on MacOS, so it’s more comparable to the similarly clocked 3900X running on the same OS.

Compared to the Ryzen 9 3900X running at 5.88GHz, the 5950X @ 6GHz is roughly 20% faster in single-threaded workloads, showing that 19% IPC increase in action, but the multi-threaded performance looks less impressive, likely due to limited scaling on GB5. With that said, it is still nearly 2x faster than the Intel Core i9-10900K which scores just around 11K in the multi-threaded bench.
