NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 is up to 40% Faster than the RTX 4080 in 3DMark Benchmarks

Following the unearthing of its first gaming benchmark, the 3DMark TimeSpy scores of the GeForce RTX 4080 have also been shared on Twitter. Unlike the former, the synthetics show a much wider delta between the Lovelace flagships. First up, we have TimeSpy, where the RTX 4090 scores a mighty 35.7K points, leading the RTX 4080 by 20% or so:

Compared to Ampere, the RTX 4080 offers a performance uplift of 60% and 30% over the RTX 3080 and 3090, respectively

TimeSpy Extreme does what it promises: Further strains the graphics cards. The GeForce RTX 4090 nets 19,467 points in this benchmark, leading the 4080 by a sizable 40% and its predecessor by nearly 60%. A rather underwhelming upgrade considering the “upgraded” price tag. The GeForce RTX 4080 is slated to launch next week with an MSRP of $1,199.
