China is the world’s largest market for chipmakers and hardware vendors alike. Over the past few years, NVIDIA and Intel have dominated the Asian markets but the tides have gradually started to turn. However, AMD is yet to breach the GPU market. In the first quarter of 2022, NVIDIA’s RTX 30 series GPUs were by far the most popular offerings on the Chinese market.
The GeForce RTX 3060 6GB mobile was the most popular GPU on the market, followed by the GTX 1050 Ti and the GTX 1650 (4GB). The GeForce RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti (mobile) came in at #4 and #5, respectively. The RTX 3070 Ti was the sixth most popular GPU, followed by the GTX 1060 and the RTX 3060 desktop GPUs.
The most popular desktop GPU was the GTX 1050 Ti, followed by the GTX 1650, 1060, and the RTX 3060. When it comes to board partners, the bulk of the shipments was from ASUS and Colorful. Each AIB held a 24% market share, with MSI, Gigabyte, and Zotac splitting the rest between them.
