NVIDIA RTX 3090|Titan May Launch w/ 24GB VRAM, 3080 Ti, 3080 to Pack 20GB and 10GB, Respectively

Sources close to WCCFTech have confirmed that NVIDIA will be announcing its RTX 30 series “Ampere” graphics cards on the 9th of September. Furthermore, they’ve also shared info regarding the VRAM buffers of the higher-end graphics cards. Let’s get to it:

  • Firstly, there the PG132-10 board with 24GB of VRAM. WCCFT believes that this will be the RTX 3080 Ti, but I strongly think that this will be the next-gen Titan (or RTX 3090), rather than the Ti. This GPU will be launch in late September.
  • Secondly, there are two more boards, the PG132-20 and PG132-30 which be the RTX 3080 Ti and 3080, respectively. They will succeed the RTX 2080 Ti and the RTX 2080 Super, respectively. The former is expected to land in early October while the latter in mid-September.
  • It’s unclear whether these are two different GPUs or the same GPU with different VRAM sizes, but looking at the board names, the latter seems highly likely. That would also mean that we’re looking at either the RTX 3080 Ti or the 3080. Time will tell.
  • The 20GB VRAM is likely to counter AMD’s Big Navi which is rumored to feature 16GB of GDDR6 memory paired with 84 CUs. We’ll have to wait and see how much of this turns out to be true. Cheers!
