NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti Drops to $999 ($200 Off), RTX 3080 12GB Priced Same as the 10GB Variant

The GPU market price crash has been affecting the high-end SKUs a lot more than the budget and entry-level parts. The flagship offerings from both AMD and NVIDIA have dropped well below their MSRPs for the first time since launch. The Radeon RX 6900 XT can now be had for as low as $799, exactly $200 less than its MSRP of $999. Similarly, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has also dropped to $999, marking a decline of $200 off its sticker price of $1,199.

Similarly, the RTX 3080 12GB is now priced the same as its 10GB predecessor, despite performing roughly the same as the RTX 3080 Ti. Essentially, you can now say that the RTX 3080 Ti costs just $769.

It really makes no sense for NVIDIA to continue the production of this chip. According to @Zed_Wang on Twitter, shipments to board partners have been halted to prevent cannibalization of the stock 3080. If for whatever reason you’re planning to get a high-end RTX card, now would be the time. Later on, you’ll probably have to pay close to $1,000 for roughly the same performance. If you’re planning on holding out on Lovelace, that is.
