NVIDIA RTX 3080 Max-Q Specfications Leak Out

The specifications of NVIDIA’s 14″ laptop flagship, the GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q have leaked out right after the standard mobile variant was spotted on Geekbench. Like the latter, the former will leverage the GA104 die, packing 6,144 FP32 cores and a 256-bit bus. However, the memory has been cut in half to 8GB of GDDR5 and the core clocks have also been toned down to keep the thermals in check.

The standard mobile version boasts 16GB of GDDR6 memory and a boost clock as high as 1.6GHz, roughly 300MHz higher than the Max-Q variant. It’s also possible that both versions will be getting 8GB and 16GB models paired with the same 256-bit bus, resulting in a bandwidth of 384GB/s for the Max-Q variant (on account of the lower memory clocks) and 448GB/s for the standard mobile variant.
