NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti to Launch with 8 and 16GB Variants of GDDR6X 19Gbps Memory

The rumor mill has some new details on the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. It turns out that the midrange Ti offering will come in two variants: an 8GB and a 16GB model, both featuring 19Gbps GDDR6X memory. Furthermore, the card will leverage the full-fledged GA104 die in the form of the GA104-400-A1, with the A1 indicating decent overclocking potential. As per insider kopite7kimi, the memory should be easily overclockable to 21Gbps which should result in a substantial boost for high-resolution gaming (and mining).

In terms of the compute and shader capabilities, we’re looking at the full-fledged GA104 die with 6,144 cores, the same as the mobile variant of the RTX 3080, albeit with higher operating clocks. The RTX 3070 Ti is an interesting GPU. The core and bus width are roughly the same as the vanilla 3070, but we’re getting much faster memory in the form of GDDR6X, similar to the 3080 and 3090.

This indicates that the delta between the 3070 and 3070 Ti will be smaller at 1080p and 1440p, with 4K being the optimal resolution for the latter. In terms of the price, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ti is priced slightly lower than $599, as it’s essentially a slightly faster 3070 with wider memory bandwidth.
