NVIDIA RTX 3070 Supply Expected to be Better in Asia at Launch

As per a report from PCWatch, the launch supply for the GeForce RTX 3070 will be much higher compared to the higher-end Ampere parts (RTX 3080/3090), at least in East Asia. The outlet received tips from various hardware retailers in Akihabara, the largest market of its kind in Japan.

One of the largest stores in Akihabara, Dospara have guarentted that the GeForce RTX 3070 will get a considerably higher supply than the RTX 3080, possibly due to the launch delay from 15th to 29th October which has allowed channel partners to accelerate shipments.

However, while the Asian markets are seeing better inventory for the RTX 3070 launch, the European and North American markets don’t seem to be doing all that well. Danish retailer, ProShop has received just over 100 units, with another batch of hundred cards on the way. That’s much lower than the expected demand of around 4K units, and as such the stock will run out within minutes if not seconds.

It’ll be interesting to see how the demand for the RTX 3070 is affected as AMD launches the RX 6000 series a day earlier. The RX 6800XT is expected to trade blows with the RTX 3080 while the RX 6900XT is supposed to be faster than both.
