NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti with Slashed Ether Hash Rate of 25 MH/s Launched

After the launch of the updated models of the GeForce RTX 3080 and 3070 with nerfed Ether hash rates, the RTX 3060 Ti has gotten the same treatment. Galax is once again the first OEM to release the updated GA104-202 based GPU, with an Ether mining performance of just 25 MH/s (down from 60 MH/s). That’s a drop of more than 50% in the effective hash rate.

As already reported earlier, there is virtually no difference between the older and new dies other than the locked Ether hash rate. Furthermore, you’ll need newer drivers to run these cards, and won’t be able to flash the firmware of the original variant onto this model. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s any difference in the boost clock behavior or the overclocking potential of these variants as they are technically part of the second wave of Ampere cards.
