NVIDIA RTX 3060 Mining Block (NOT) Bypassed by Chinese Miners: 45 MH/s per Card, 363 MH/s for 8x GPUs [Rumor]

According to info shared by I_Leak_VN on Twitter, it looks like NVIDIA’s newly launched GeForce RTX 3060 is quite profitable for cryptominers after all. An image shared by the source shows a group of 8x RTX 3060s mining at an overall hash rate of 363 MH/s, with each GPU accounting for roughly 45 MH/s. The caveat here is that we don’t know which currency is being mined here. It could be Ether which is most profitable, but it could also be Octopus which is the second most mined cryptocurrency on modern GPUs.

As per stats provided by Minerstat, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti manages a hash rate of 60 MH/s with Ether and just around 42 MH/s while mining Octopus. Considering these figures, you’d think that the above image shows the hash rate of the RTX 3060 while mining Ether, but that’s unlikely.

The RTX 3060 nets exactly 45 MH/s in Octopus via the Conflux network as per the figures shared by YouTuber CryptoLeo in one of his videos. That’s the same as the 3060s in the above image. Therefore, it’s most likely that we’re simply looking at a bunch of RTX 3060s minings Octopus rather than Ether.
