NVIDIA RTX 3060 Being Sold at 2x MSRP, 16 Days Ahead of Official Launch

NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 is still 16 days away from the official launch, but certain retailers in the South Asian market have already started selling the GPU…at 2x the retail price. The retailer in question is ZAH Computers, an official dealer (AU Technologies as the main distributor) of Palit graphics cards based in Pakistan. ZC was spotted by a Redditor selling the Palit variants of the 3060 for 120 grand in local currency which is roughly $750, twice the global MSRP.

Although computer hardware is usually overpriced in Asia-Pacific, this is one of those rare occasions when a major retailer is caught on camera selling a product well ahead of the official release. The price part isn’t really surprising as most Ampere parts are already being sold at 2-3x the MSRP across most of the world. The same is the case with the Big Navi graphics cards except the supply is even worse.

The most common excuses behind the overpricing of computer hardware in this region are the customs duty, taxes, etc. Although this is true to some extend, most retailers try to fleece consumers whenever possible.
