NVIDIA RTX 30 Series Mobile GPUs Coming in 1H 2020: AMD APU Support Included

As per a report from WCCFTech, NVIDIA is planning to launch its Ampere mobile GPUs in the first half of 2021, including the RTX 3060, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080, replacing the existing Supers based on Turing.

The higher-end RTX 3080 and 3070 mobile will be released at CES 2021 in January, with the RTX 2070 and 2080 Super being discontinued, simultaneously. The budget GTX 16 series will continue to be produced for the remainder of the year due to higher sales and popularity among the mainstream users. Interestingly, the newer GPUs will be exclusive to ASUS and MSI notebooks in the beginning, while HP, Dell, and Lenovo are expected to adopt them by Q2 2021.

Furthermore, the RTX 30 mobile lineup is expected to have a very short life-span similar to the RTX 20 Super parts. We’re likely to see an Ampere refresh (Super?) by the end of next year.

Lastly, all these GPUs, including the top-end models will be paired with AMD’s mobile processors, most likely the upcoming Ryzen 5000 APUs (Cezanne and Lucienne), unlike their predecessors which were limited to Intel variants.
