NVIDIA RTX 30 Series GPUs are Priced Higher than AMD’s RX 6000 GPUs: GeForce GPUs are Still Priced Over MSRP

While GPU prices have mostly returned to normal, there are some exceptions. NVIDIA’s RTX 3080 and 3070 are still going well over their MSPR. The former is priced at $799 while the latter is going for $579 which is a fat bit over the MSRP of $699, and $ 499, respectively. In comparison, AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 XT is priced at $699, and the RX 6700 XT is going for $449.

Looking at the higher-end, we have the RTX 3080 Ti and the 3090 selling for $999 and $1,449 which is below the MSRP but only a smidge for the latter. The Radeon RX 6900 XT, on the other hand, is priced at $789, a whole $200 below its MSRP.

Prices are generally dictated by demand which indicates that NVIDIA’s RTX SKUs are much more desired than AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 parts, possibly due to the superior ray-tracing performance. We’ll have to see how the performance varies with the next-gen offerings.
