NVIDIA RTX 1060 Still the Most Popular GPU Among Steam Gamers: GTX 1650 @ #4, Courtesy of Gaming Notebooks

NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1060 is still the most popular graphics card among Steam gamers, even four years after its launch in Q2 2016. The GTX 1050 Ti is the second-most popular GPU, while the 1050 is the third. The highest-ranked Turing part (#4) is the GTX 1650 which is new as the most popular NVIDIA GPU from every generation is usually the x60/x70. This time around, however, the GTX 1650 was the most sold part, mostly thanks to the majority of budget gaming notebooks featuring it.

The most popular RTX GPU is the 2060 which comes in right after the GTX 1070 at #6. The GeForce RTX 2070 Super is the second most popular RTX card at #9, showing just how poor the sales of the original RTX 20 series lineup was compared to Pascal and even the Super lineup.

The Radeon RX 580 is AMD’s most popular GPU, with a strong base in the Asia-Pacific region, most notably China. It comes in at #10, right behind the RTX 2070 Super and ahead of the GTX 1660 and the original 2070.

The CPU market was relatively quiet in October, with gamers patiently for the Ryzen 5000 lineup from AMD. Considering how well these new parts perform in gaming workloads, we should see even greater gains on AMD’s sides in the coming months. You can read our Ryzen 5000 review here.
