NVIDIA Reportedly Stockpiling RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 Graphics Cards in Warehouses Since August

NVIDIA has reportedly been stockpiling loads of its next-gen GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs across warehouses in China and elsewhere. Sources close to Tweaktown have informed the outlet that the chipmaker has been holding inventory of the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4080 since August. Chinese GPU suppliers have allegedly been receiving stocks of the next-gen graphics cards for over a month now, and are likely the source of the recently leaked images.

The same has been supplemented by Moore’s Law is Dead in a very recent video. The YouTuber claims that there are mountains of Ampere cards about to hit the market which is why NVIDIA has been delaying the launch of its next-gen offerings. For this very reason, the RTX 4080 and 4090 will form the high-end stack with the existing RTX 30 SKUs serving the mid and entry-level markets.

The GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 are set to be announced during the “GeForce Beyond” event on the 20th of September at NVIDIA’s GTC 2022 keynote.
