NVIDIA Hints that RTX 3080 Founders Edition will be Back in Stock Next Week

NVIDIA has claimed that the official store should be restocked by next week with more RTX 3080 Founders Edition cards. Speaking to a Redditor, an NVIDIA rep promised that inventory should be back in stock in a week, and users who didn’t get a chance to buy one can sign up to be notified. Furthermore, he said that third-party board partners will likely take longer to restock as they weren’t given enough time ahead of the launch.

This is good news for the majority of PC gamers who weren’t able to get a card on the launch date. Thanks to resellers’ use of bots, the inventory was out of stock within minutes. Unfortunately, this is something we’ll more of with future launches. NVIDIA has said that it will manually review orders to tackle the bots and implement a Captcha test in the future, but that likely won’t stop some of the more determined scalpers.

Most of these resellers/scalpers are selling their RTX 3080s on eBay for as much as $2,000, 2-3 times as much as the retail price. This is an easy trap for less informed gamers with deep pockets. While most people won’t feel bad for them, it’s still quite unethical.
