NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070: Specs and Packing Leak Out [Report]

The next Ada Lovelace GPU is about to enter mass production and the preliminary specifications of the card have been leaked. Posted by @kopite7kimi last month, the AD104-based SKU will feature 5,888 FP32 cores alongside 12GB GDDR6X memory. The core will probably be clocked at around 2.7GHz and the memory at 2.62GHz (21Gbps effective). The L2 cache has been consolidated to 36MB, while the TBP has been reduced to <250W. We’re looking at the same shader density as the RTX 3070 with higher clocks, more cache, and faster memory.

The SKU number is wrong. It is PG141-SKU343/344/345. It is possible to continue to reduce power consumption.

  • Some updates of RTX 4070:
  • PG141-SKU336/337
  • AD104-250-A1
  • 5888FP32
  • 12G 21Gbps GDDR6X
  • 36M L2
  • 250W

RedGamingTech has shared the first packaging shots of the GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition. The dimensions of the card can be seen on the back. The Founders Edition is 112 mm wide, a notch thinner than the 137 mm-wide GeForce RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. Like its predecessor, it will come with a 12-pin PCIe Gen 5 power connector.

Interestingly, @kopite7kimi has shared that the RTX 3060 Ti will feature the same heatsink as the RTX 4070 with a smaller power envelope and better thermals. The GeForce RTX 4070 will cost between $600-699, and the RTX 4060 Ti between $500-599.
