NVIDIA Forbids Retailers from Placing Pre-orders for RTX 3080 due to Extreme Shortage

NVIDIA isn’t taking any pre-orders for the RTX 3080 and 3090 on its official website (surprise) due to extremely limited stocks. As per multiple sources (on Reddit and our personal), third-party retailers aren’t allowed to take pre-orders either. Neither for Founders’ Edition nor third-party board partner cards. Here’s one such memo:

As per sources, this will be the most inventory constrained launch of this decade, and it’ll only be till AMD launches its Navi 2x GPUs that supply will become more consistent. This should be around Christmas or perhaps even early 2021. I’m talking about the Ampere supply, not the Navi 2x launch here. Navi 2x and Big Navi are supposed to land in November.
