NVIDIA CEO to Unveil the RTX 4090 in Late September 2022: Market Avail in October?

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has all but confirmed the first reveal dates of the next-gen Lovelace graphics architecture. During the chipmaker’s Q2 2022 earnings call, Huang commented on the falling GPU prices and the sorry state of the retail channel inventory in detail. He sounded confident reassuring investors that the crisis would be over by the year’s end. However, the interesting bit was with his comment on the Lovelace reveal.

In Gaming, our partners and ecosystem are responding to a sudden slowdown in consumer demand and correcting channel inventory. Still, the fundamentals of gaming are strong. We’ll get through this over the next few months and go into next year with our new architecture. I look forward to telling you more about it at GTC next month.

I look forward to next month’s GTC conference, where we will share new advances of RTX reinventing 3D graphics and gaming.

Calm and composed, as usual, Jensen revealed that the first details of the next-gen Lovelace gaming architecture will be shared during the GTC 2022 which will run from the 19th to the 22nd of September. Normally, I’d say be skeptical as GTC is a GPGPU (Tensor GPU) oriented event but as the H100 has already been announced, we’re definitely looking at an RTX 4090 reveal.

The announcement may come in the third week of September but the actual retail launch should happen around mid-October. That’s a bit under two months from now.
