Newegg Sells PS5s via Lucky Draws (Raffle) to Tackle Scalpers

Newegg has decided to sell the few units of high-end graphics cards and PS5 consoles in stock via lucky draws. The outlet is bundling multiple components at rather agreeable prices and selling them through the “Newegg Shuffle” event wherein the community is notified of the event beforehand.

Note: Please keep in mind that the stocks are gone by now. Newegg received a very limited supply yesterday, so don’t waste your time trying to find one right now.

You’re supposed to reserve a bunch of items for purchase, and you’ll be entered into the lottery to get a chance to purchase those items close to the MSRP. The winners are announced after a few hours via email or Newegg’s mobile app. The winners have two hours to pay for their respective items. Failure to do so will result in the items being offered to the next customer in line.

Of course, this method isn’t exactly fair but it definitely beats letting all the bots and scalpers buy the entire stocks ahead of the actual consumers. PS5 and graphics card supply are expected to improve by April. Even then, there won’t be stocks for just about everyone. It’s going to take even longer for the situation to turn to the pre-pandemic state.
