An AMD Renoir based Surface Book is looking more and more likely. A Microsoft device paired with a Renoir based Ryzen 7 4800U has surfaced which further cements this claim.

Microsoft is clearly testing the 15W Ryzen 4000 APUs internally and this isn’t the first such listing we’ve seen. Chances are that it’s the next Surface Book. Considering that the present Ryzen Edition of the Surface Book leverages a Picasso chip which is nowhere as fast or efficient as the rival Intel Ice Lake or Renoir parts, a successor powered by a 15W Ryzen 4000 APU is almost certain. At the same time, I don’t expect MS to ditch Intel. We’ll most likely see an Intel Tiger Lake variant alongside a Renoir-based model.
