Intel’s Core i5-9600K Falls to All-Time Low of $175: Decent Budget Gaming CPU

Intel’s last-gen budget gaming CPU, the Core i5-9600K has come down to an all-time low of $175. That’s just $10 more than the competing Ryzen 5 3600 and around $25 less than the Ryzen 5 3600X. In terms of performance, you’re looking at marginally higher gaming performance than both the chips, but notably worse content creation and multi-threaded grunt.

The Core i5-9600K performs nearly on par with the 10th Gen Core i5-10600K in most games after a mild overclock, while costing nearly half as much with this discount. Both are hex-core CPUs but the former lacks hyperthreading which can actually be detrimental in certain titles as it reduces the amount of L2 cache available to each individual thread. Other than that, both the CPUs are identical, excusing the slight frequency bump which can be easily compensated for with a one-click overclock. You may check out this deal here.
