Intel Tiger Lake: Core i7-1165G7 Powered Acer Laptop Listed by Retailer: Launch on 27th July

An Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake-based laptop has been listed by a Dutch retailer, with a speculated launch date of 27th July. The notebook in question is an Acer Swift 5 SF514, a 14″ device powered by the Core i7-1165G7, 16GB of LPDDR4X memory, 1 TB SSD storage and Intel WiFi 6. It features a FHD touch display with a brightness of 300 nits, a fingerprint scanner and a 56Whr battery promising a standby time of up to 13 hours. On top of this, the device will weigh less than a kg.

The Core i7-1165G7 is a quad-core CPU featuring eight threads thanks to SMT and a boost of around 4.6-4.8GHz. The base clock will be much lower somewhere in the 2GHz range. Unlike desktops, the PL2 and Tau values will be enforced here, so you won’t be seeing the 4GHz+ boost for longer than a minute on sustained heavy loads.

Tiger Lake will be based on the third iteration of the 10nm node (10+++) and feature the Willow Cove core architecture which is supposed to further Intel’s IPC lead over AMD, with a focus on AI workloads. One of the major highlights of Tiger Lake is the Gen12 Xe graphics which will debut with the new lineup. We recently saw the same chip running Battlefield V at 1080p 30FPS at the high preset.
