Intel Prepping the Core i3-10100F @ $79 to Challenge the Ryzen 3 3100

Intel is prepping the F variant of its 10th Gen Core i3-10100 for launch soon at just $79 to challenge AMD’s highly successful Ryzen 3 3100/3300X processors.

This isn’t really surprising considering how well the Core i3-9100F and 9400F did in the Eastern markets. The former is still the most popular Intel chip in Russia, while it’s the second most popular processor in China.

Unfortunately like all previous lower-end Intel chips, the motherboards recommended for these parts are limited to 2400/2666MHz memory support which severely limits the memory bandwidth, in turn punishing the gaming performance. This, along with the extended backward compatibility of AMD’s AM4 platform has given Team Red a real edge in all markets.
