Intel Launches Arc A380 Desktop GPU in China: Up to 27% faster than the AMD RX 6400 and Cheaper

Intel has announced its first Arc graphics card in the form of the A380…exclusively in China to target budget and entry-level gamers and for the most part eSports cafes and gaming centers. The Arc A380 is a mid-range graphics card that features 6GB of GDDR6 memory paired with a paltry 96-bit bus along with 8 Xe cores or 1,024 shaders.

It supposedly offers close to 100 FPS in popular eSports titles but other less commonly played games might suffer from unoptimized drivers. The Intel Arc A380 will be available from OEMs and SIs including Acer, ASUS, Gigabyte, GUNNIR, HP, and MSI starting this month. The launch will be exclusive to China and slowly expand to the rest of the world, though the exact timeframe is unknown. Intel claims the following:

According to official claims, the Arc A380 offers better performance than the AMD Radeon RX 6400 at a lower price, especially in ray-traced titles. It is priced at 1,030 yuan including VAT and is as much as 27% faster than the RX 6400 in select titles.

Game workloads that support this claim are Naraka Bladepoint (27)%, JX Remake (27%), F1 2021 (26%), Rust (24%), Total Saga: Troy (22%), The Witcher 3 (22%), Arcadegeddon (21%), Metro Exodus (18%), NiZhan (16%), Wolfenstein: Youngblood (15%), Destiny 2 (14%). All games tested at 1080p resolution and medium settings preset.

The higher-end Arc desktop graphics cards will be available this summer, once again starting with the East Asian market.
