Intel Discontinues 13th Gen Raptor Lake Processors (Boxed)

Intel has discontinued the boxed version of the 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors. The chipmaker will halt shipments of the 13th Gen desktop processors by the end of June. The Core i5-13600K, 13600KF, Core i7-13700,13700KF, and the Core i9-13900K/13900KF are the most popular boxed versions of the Raptor Lake desktop family. The final units of these processors will ship by the 28th of June.

The 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh, a rebrand of the 13th Gen lineup will replace them. These chips are the same as their predecessors, except they feature higher-binned, overclocked variants of the original Raptor Lake family. Although initially pricier, they have settled at the same or lower MSRPs as the 13th Gen parts.

The 13th Gen Raptor Lake lineup has been discontinued ahead of the 12th Gen Alder Lake offerings. Apart from higher L2 cache per P-core, the former features higher boost clocks and increased E-core counts at every price point. Intel has essentially cut off the cheaper Raptor Lake SKUs to improve profit margins and boost 14th-gen sales. Those in the market for a new LGA1700 CPU would be wise to snag their preferred chips.
