Intel Core i9-12900K Down to $499: Lowest Price Since Launch, i7-12700K at $349, i5-12600K at $249

Retailers have started emptying stock of the 12th Gen Core processors with hefty discounts across the board. As Intel preps the launch of its 13th Gen Raptor Lake-S CPUs, this is an excellent time to buy a gaming chip. Remember that Raptor Lake is a refresh with more E-cores and higher boost clocks. Content creation may get an ample boost, but gaming workloads should perform (essentially) the same. As such, the 12th Gen offerings will remain competitive for the foreseeable future. Don’t hesitate to splurge if you see a good deal on any of the K series parts.

Microcenter has discounted the Core i9-12900K to just $499, down from its sticker price of $599 and street price of over $600. Considering that this is one of the fastest gaming processors on the market and will remain so for at least the following year, this is a pretty neat deal.

The Core i7-12700K has dropped to $349. As noted in our review, it remains highly competitive against AMD’s recently launched Ryzen 7 7700X, which currently retails for a hefty $399.

Finally, we have the Core i5-12600K, which can be had for $249.99. This 10-core chip is a smidge slower than the Ryzen 5 7600X but costs a good deal less, especially if you factor in the DDR4 memory support.
