Intel Core i9-12900K “Alder Lake-S” w/ 5.3GHz Boost Reportedly Faster than Ryzen 9 5950X in Multi-Threaded Workloads (CB: R20)

According to fresh rumors, Intel’s Alder Lake-S processors will be every bit as impressive as the chipmaker claims. The flagship Core i9-12900K will reportedly beat the Ryzen 9 5950X both in terms of single-threaded as well as multi-threaded performance. The source has shared the Cinebench R20 scores of the 12th Gen K series parts, and they seem to be quite a bit faster than their Ryzen 5000 rivals:

Please take these figures with a grain of salt|pre-preliminary scores

With a multi-threaded score of 11,300 points in Cinebench R20, the Core i9-12900K with 16 cores (8 Golden Cove+ 8 Gracemont) is supposedly faster than the Ryzen 9 5950X which is limited to under 10,500 points. The Core i7-12700K with 12 cores (8GC+4GM) has a reported score of 9,500 while the Ryzen 9 5900X manages 8,550 at best under stock conditions.

Finally, the Core i5-12600K which packs 10 cores (6GC+4GM) is supposedly capable of a rather impressive 7,400 points in the Cinebench R20 multi-threaded benchmark, beating the octa-core Ryzen 7 5800X by nearly 1,400 points. The source states that the Golden Cove cores have a single-core boost clock of 5.3GHz while the low-power Gracemont cores can boost to 3.9GHz, allowing the latter to pretty much level with the mobile Sunny Cove cores. You can explore the differences between the two cores in the below post:
