Intel Core i9-11900K Beats the Ryzen 7 5800X in Both ST and MT Test: Fastest Single- Threaded Performance

An even higher score of the Core i9-11900K has surfaced which shows the Rocket Lake-S flagship absolutely destroying every processor in the single-threaded benchmark, crossing the 700 point mark for the first time. In comparison, the Zen 3 based Ryzen 7 5800X scores 663 points, and the Core i7-10700K is limited to just 571. Not even the top-end Ryzen 5000 parts, namely the 5900X and 5950X can keep up with the 11900K in terms of the single-threaded performance, bowing out around 682-684 points.

Surprisingly, the 11900K when running near its maximum single-core boost (multi-core boost likely around 4.5-4.6GHz) even overtakes the Ryzen 7 5800X in the multi-core benchmark, giving it an advantage over its closest rival in both single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads. (Phentermine)

Intel is expected to announce its 11th Gen Rocket Lake-S CPUs during its CES keynote in the coming week. The retail units however won’t hit shelves before mid-March. That still gives AMD a few months to hold onto the gaming crown before Intel retakes it. Till now, supply shortages have prevented the company from capitalizing on this opportunity.
